Lubbock Family Starts Fundraiser Following Death of Loved One
The family of recently-deceased Richard Perez of Lubbock has created a GoFundMe page to help pay for funeral expenses.
Esmeralda Perez, Richard's mother, organized the fundraiser. She wrote the following on the fundraiser's page:
Dear family and friends if you have lost a loved one then you know how hard this is to write. Losing someone you love is the hardest thing a person has to go through. And yesterday we lost Richard. Richard was a father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to so many people. If you knew Richard you knew there would never be a dull moment when he was around. He would crack jokes till you cry, give you a nickname you couldn’t forget, and he probably was squinting to see who you were but most of all he was a generous man. Due to this unfortunate lose Richard now needs our generosity to help cover his funeral expenses. Our family never imagined that we would be planning a funeral for Richard and we understand times are hard for all of us right now but anything you could spare to help us raise money for his funeral would be greatly appreciated and if you can’t donate please share this so we can try and get as close as possible to our goal. And prayers would be much appreciated as we go through this difficult process.
As of around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2nd, a little over $700 dollars had been raised of the $12,000 goal.
A memorial fund has also been set up for donations. You can go to any PlainsCapital Bank location and donated to the account for "Richard Perez." Donations can also be made to lake Ridge Chapel & Memorial Designers at 6025 82nd Street.
