This will be the 9th year that Big Brothers Big Sisters is hosting this event, but it will be the first year that the event will feature casino tables, dealers, and a Roaring 20’s theme. Mike Caffey, President of the Board of Directors, is hoping that the theme this year will spark new interest in the event.

“This event allows the Lubbock community to enjoy a night out with friends while knowing their financial support is providing a foundation for over 200 volunteers to mentor kids who could use a friend, a positive role model or just someone to listen,” Caffey said.

Per tradition, the event will also feature heavy hors d'oeuvres, wine from local wineries, art from local artists, silent and live auctions, door prizes, and entertainment. Cindy Miller, Executive Director, has high hopes for the event.

“I am looking forward to this year’s event,” Miller said. “Each year our goal is serve more children in the community. With the help and support of the community, we will be able to do that. Having a successful event will be the first step to reaching this goal.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters has been serving the Lubbock community for 43 years. All of the money that is raised at this year’s Vino Festivo Casino Night will go directly to the local agency to help match more children with positive one-to-one mentors.
