Buddy Holly’s Annual Birthday Bash Scheduled For Friday, September 7th, 2018.

The Buddy Holly Center is hosting Buddy Holly’s 82^nd Birthday Bash on Friday, September 7^th, 2018.

Entrance into to the Buddy Holly Center will be free that day. Festivities are scheduled throughout the day, and an evening concert will be provided by Dustin Garrett in the Meadows Courtyard.

Buddy Holly will long be etched in the heart of Lubbock, though his life and career was cut short.

He was ranked number 13 on the list of “100 Greatest Artists” in Rolling Stone Magazine in 1986, the same year he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And in 2011, he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Below is a schedule of events for Buddy’s 82^nd Birthday Bash:

FREE Admission All Day

• 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.: J.I. Allison House tours, Screenings of “Buddy Holly: Rave On”
• 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: Children’s activities: Origami Crickets, Homemade Maracas and Buddy Glasses
• 6:00 p.m.: Birthday Bash reception with cupcakes, punch and light refreshments
• 6:00-8:30 p.m.: Performance by Dustin Garrett in the Meadows Courtyard with cash bar & food trucks
• 6:00-9:00 p.m.: First Friday Art Trail, Sky’s the Limit Exhibition in the Fine Arts Gallery, Children’s crafts: Origami Crickets, Homemade Maracas and Buddy Glasses.
