City of Lubbock Approves Dogs on Restaurant Patios With One Weird Caveat
Acting like true politicians, the city banned dogs on restaurant patios until a "code of ordinance" was written, which, basically, gave us the right to do something that wasn't a problem in the first place.
So, what's the weirdness here? It's written into the code that restaurant wait staff "cannot serve food to dogs." Wait, what? I guess they're trying to keep dog/wait staff interaction to a minimum, but it's kind of stupid, too. I've never caught a cold or the flu from a dog; those things come from interactions with other humans.
There's also this weird stuff about feeding dogs "edible food" (is there food, other than your mother-in-law's cooking that is "inedible"?) in disposable or owner-provided containers.
I guess all this means is that we're going to have to "accidentally" drop whatever we want our pets to have.
