Let's start with it's going to be a minute before things are back to normal, but I found a sign that things may be getting closer.

For the time being, we may have beaten the worst of COVID-19 (*knocks on wood*). Hopefully, we won't have to deal with it as a killer of our friends and families again. If a large segment of the population continues to be careful, then maybe there's a little light at the end of the tunnel.

The COVID-19 pandemic also helped break down the supply chain. We had people hoarding and people who could just not make deliveries. It was weird for Americans to go to the store and find empty shelves and an absence of the strangest of items. (I guess cheap taco sauce is considered a comfort food or something.)

Just about a week ago I wrote how the last item that we were waiting for to hit store shelves again was regular ol' saltine crackers. Well, I'm happy to report that I saw Market Street on 50th Street stackin' 'em deep and sellin' them cheap. I don't know why, but that little thing made me very, very happy.

Now it's possible that the shipment will sell out quickly and they might not be in all stores, but having a shelf full is definitely a sign that some progress is being made. It sucks that they didn't make it back in time to go into the winter stews and soups, but heck, I'm going to have some peanut butter and jelly cracks now just because I can.
