Texas Tech head coach Mark Adams has officially announced the hiring of Corey Williams as an assistant coach for the Red Raiders. Corey Williams is Adams' second hire and third member on staff after hiring Associate Head Coach Barret Peery and retaining Sean Sutton from the previous staff.

Most recently, Williams coached at Arkansas with Eric Mussleman and was instrumental in landing the number five recruiting class for Arkansas in 2020. In 2021, the Razorbacks beat Texas Tech in the NCAA Tournament and got all the way to the Elite 8 before losing to eventual national champion, Baylor.

Before Arkansas, Williams spent time at Stetson as the head coach and was an assistant at Oral Roberts with Scott Sutton and Florida State

Williams competed as a player at the collegiate level under Hall of Famer Eddie Sutton at Oklahoma State in the early '90s as a teammate of Sean Sutton. Williams averaged more than 10 points per game while starting 95 of more than 120 games as a Cowboy. Williams was a powerful do-it-all guard that also got drafted into the NFL despite not playing since junior high.

As a rookie in the NBA, Williams was a member of the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls as the franchise captured its third straight NBA title. After his rookie season, Williams made an appearance with the Minnesota Timberwolves, then bounced around various levels before finishing his professional playing career in Taiwan, from 1995-98.

2007-13: Assistant Coach, Florida State
