Officials with the Lubbock Police Department and Lubbock Fire Department are investigating what exactly happened at a home in South Lubbock where reports of gun shots was followed by reports of a fire and four people lost their lives.

According to the Lubbock Police Department, the police were called to the 4100 block of 124th Street just after 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning. They call was reportedly about reports of gun shots. When officers arrived, the home was on fire.

Lubbock Fire Rescue arrived at 1:22 a.m. and were able to put the fire out just after 2:00 a.m. The fire was contained to just the one home. As of this time, the Lubbock Police Department confirms four deceased individuals were found inside the home.

Just after Noon on Wednesday, Lubbock Fire Rescue issued the following statement.

On October 26th, 2022 LFR dispatch was called at 1:16:49 a.m. for a structure fire response. Fire units were en route to the scene at 1:17:55 a.m. and LFR arrived on scene at 1:22:22 a.m. That would make Lubbock Fire Rescue’s response time a total of 4 minutes and 27 seconds. The fire was controlled and extinguished at 2:09 a.m. There was heavy damage to the interior of the home.
