Lubbock Meals On Wheels Receives $2,500 grant

On Wednesday, May 13th, Lubbock Meals on Wheels announced it was awarded a $2,500 grant through funding from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas to help with COVID-19 relief efforts.

KAMC News reports that this funding is part of a $1 million donation from BCBSTX's COVID-19 Collaborative Grant Fund to the Communities Foundation of Texas to support community foundations and nonprofits throughout Texas providing critical services.

Throughout the state's response to COVID-19, Lubbock Meals on Wheels has continued delivering meals to over 800 people a day. Delivery volunteers are picking up their meals via a drive-through that was started over a month ago.
