Lubbock Police Release Identity of Man Killed in South Lubbock Shooting
Friday afternoon, Lubbock police were called out to a residence in the 2100 block of 90th Street after a shots fired call was received around 4:20 p.m.
When police came upon the scene they found one person killed. The deceased individual has been identified by Lubbock Police as 54-year-old Chad Read.
According to Lubbock Police, there was a "...verbal altercation between Read and another man related to a domestic incident that turned physical." The shots were fired shortly after the confrontation.
As of Saturday evening, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting death and the investigation has been turned over to the Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit of the Lubbock Police Department. Also, as of Saturday evening, Lubbock Police have not released the name of the person, or people, involved in the confrontation with Read and have not identified the person who fired the shots that killed Read.
Read lived in Lubbock County at the time of his death.
