We are officially in the month of April which means April Fools has passed but todays mugshots are no joke. If you were busy getting your prank on or just busy then here is some news that you might have missed. The Lubbock SWAT team had to be called in to try and arrest a man who held a woman hostage while attempting to sexually assault her, she did get away and get help. That man then hid in an underground bunker for several hours sounds horrible especially with those apocalyptic dust storms we are having lately.

One YouTube video does seem to make Lubbock seem like some kind of Mad Max movie where water is scarce and seen as a form of currency. Do not worry though Lubbock is not that scary and you could build a shelter from those dust storms, maybe out of leftover wooden pallets? I am all about reusing items and using those leftover wooden pallets seems to be a great idea to reduce waste, no one wants to run over a wooden pallet on the Loop.

Enough of the hard work and more on relaxation like for example Lubbock's turtle races that seem to debunk the whole slow moving turtle myth. Maybe it's all the lettuce they eat which in that case those turtles should visit the Vega family in Lubbock who has been serving some of the best agua frescas and sonoran hot dogs in the Hub City. Trust me they make the weekend that much better! If you're a major foodie like myself then you need to check out the Chef Showdown happening later this month at the Jones AT&T Stadium. Major food battle.
