Neil Diamond Announces Engagement to Manager

"Good news coming from sunny LA/ and you're the first I want to tell/ Katie & I just got engaged/ and I hope you wish us well," the newly inducted Rock & Roll Hall of Famer announced his engagement on Twitter yesterday.

The fiancee is Katie McNeil, who produced the 2009 documentary, Neil Diamond: Hot August Night NYC.

This will be Neil's third marriage and the announcement comes on the same day it was revealed that he will be among five entertainers, including Meryl Streep, to receive the 2011 Kennedy Center Honors in December.

By the way, Neil is 70. His bride-to-be is much younger. She's 40.

In addition to working as Neil's comanager, she has worked on films covering artists such as Motley Crue and Public Enemy.
