A Leader Rooted in the Hub City

Atwood isn’t new to the Lubbock business scene. With more than 20 years of leadership experience in the financial services industry, he’s built a strong reputation for community involvement and results-driven leadership.

He’s been active with the Chamber for over a decade—serving on both the Board of Directors and the Executive Board, and previously chairing the Total Resource Campaign, which helped grow partnerships and expand membership.

In 2013, Atwood was recognized as one of Lubbock’s Top 20 Under 40 for his professional success and community service. He’s also a Leadership Lubbock graduate and has served on multiple local boards, including Lubbock ISD Foundation for Excellence, United Way, and the City of Lubbock Appointments Advisory Board.

A Vision for Growth and Community

“Nick has a deep passion for Lubbock, proven leadership experience, and a strong vision for how the Chamber can continue to serve and grow our business community,” said Robert Wood, Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Professionally, Atwood has focused on relationship-driven leadership, most recently serving as Director of Corporate Retirement Plans at PFG Advisors, where he helped businesses plan for the future and strengthen their teams.

Outside of work, he and his wife, Keely, teach 5th-grade Sunday School and stay busy cheering on (and coaching!) their two daughters’ softball teams. And in case that wasn’t enough, Nick also works as an NCAA Division I men’s basketball referee, a role he says has sharpened his ability to make confident decisions under pressure—something that’ll come in handy in his new position.

Looking Ahead

Atwood said via press release:

I am both humbled and honored to step into this role. The Chamber has played a big part in my own professional journey, and I’m excited to continue building on its strong foundation.

The Lubbock Chamber represents more than 1,400 local businesses and remains a driving force in supporting growth and opportunity across the South Plains. With Atwood now leading the charge, it’s safe to say the Chamber’s future is in good hands.
