Furr’s in Plainview Closes Unexpectedly

The Furr's Fresh Buffet in Plainview closed unexpectedly today (Monday, April 15th).

Sources onsite say that the Furr's conducted regular business Sunday night, down to employees performing food prep for today, only to find the restaurant closed for good this morning.

Some of the employees received a call about an hour before they were scheduled to open, while others showed up for work only to find that outside temporary employees were on site cleaning out the location.

A quick look at Google reviews showed the restaurant with a 3.8 out of 5 star rating, with a few mentions of the place needing updating. Of course, there are people who had disappointing experiences, but generally the store was well-reviewed. But there didn't seem to be an indication that the store was in serious trouble.

I can't tell what the loss of this restaurant means to the city of Plainview, I can only say that we wish the employees well in finding new employment.
