Update: Science Spectrum has canceled their adults-only Halloween event, All Growed Up: Games and Goblins.

According to Science Spectrum's website, the decision was made due to the recent surge in new COVID-19 cases across Lubbock, which also threatens to trigger business closures and capacity restrictions across the Hub City.

Due to the continued rise of local COVID-19 cases, Science Spectrum is cancelling All Growed Up: Games & Goblins. If you have already purchased tickets to this event, someone will contact you soon to issue a refund. If you have not heard from Science Spectrum Staff by Wednesday, October 28th, please give us a call at 806-745-2525.

Original story: If you're an adult who likes science, Halloween, and are in need of a night out, the Science Spectrum in Lubbock has an event for you.

All Growed Up: Games and Goblins will be an adults-only (21 and up event on Thursday, October 29th from 7 to 10 p.m.

According to a press release from the Science Spectrum, guests will take in live science demonstrations and more throughout the night:

All Growed Up: Games & Goblins promises to be an exciting and mysterious experience!

Guests will be encouraged to quest through the museum, take in live science demonstrations, and enjoy the atmosphere of a Gaming oriented Renaissance Science Faire.

All Growed Up is a series put on by the Science Spectrum for adults. The adult events at the Science Spectrum feature a more adult atmosphere with music, food trucks, prizes, a cash-bar, and, of course, hands-on adult science activities.

For All Growed Up: Games and Goblins, the Science Spectrum is encouraging people to come in costume, though it's not required. Social distancing will be strongly encouraged, and face masks will be required.

Tickets for the October 29th event will cost members $8, and non-members $12. To purchase tickets in advance, drop by the front desk of the Science Spectrum or purchase them online at sciencespectrum.org. There will not be walk-up ticket sales the night of the event.

My wife and I went to All Growed Up last year around Halloween and we had a great time. There were food trucks, adult beverages, science demonstrations, and we even felt like kids again playing with some of the different stations at the Science Spectrum. It was actually a lot more fun that I thought it was going to be. Check it out.
