Help Our First Responders Stay Cool This Summer
As you know, here in West Texas, the summer sun doesn’t mess around—and neither do the folks who protect and serve our community day in and day out. That’s why the Lubbock County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) is kicking off the 2025 Support Our First Responders Campaign, and they’re asking for your help!
First Responders Need to Stay Hydrated
Running through July 7th, this annual campaign is all about one thing: keeping Lubbock’s first responders hydrated during the scorching summer months. The LEPC is asking for donations of bottled water—or cash donations that will be used to purchase water—to be handed out to first responders across Lubbock County.

And I'm not just talking about one firehouse or police department. This effort supports 13 fire service agencies, 19 law enforcement agencies, 3 EMS agencies, 3 emergency management groups, 2 volunteer disaster organizations, and even 1 public works agency.
That’s a whole lot of heroes—and a whole lot of bottled water.
How You Can Help
This year, if you want to pitch in, you can swing by the official drop-off site at Market Street (3405 50th Street, at Indiana Avenue) on Saturday, July 5th, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Grab a case (or two) of water and drop it off with a smile—knowing you’re helping someone who might be running into a burning building later that day.

Local businesses, churches, and community groups are also encouraged to step up by donating full pallets of water or contributing $200 per pallet to help the LEPC purchase them directly.
How Do You Make a Cash Donation?
Monetary donations can be mailed to:

Let’s come together as a community and make sure our local heroes stay safe and hydrated this summer. After all, they’ve always been there for us—now it’s our turn to be there for them!
