As we all learned from Sully, planes are not to be trusted. The massive, sophisticated machinery in these multi-million dollar aircrafts can be completely undone by something as small and minor as an errant bird, sending the passengers into a screaming spiral of terror. As pilot Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger, Tom Hanks heroically guided an airliner into the Hudson River for a safe crash landing, and Harrison Ford survived a similarly perilous plane crash while giving his amateur pilot’s license a workout not too long ago. Another day, another celebrity-adjacent story pertaining to aircraft engine failure.
Somewhere, James Cameron is shaking his head and chuckling to himself, wondering why the heck he didn’t think of setting Titanic in space because it seems so obvious now — especially with this new trailer for Passengers, the Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence sci-fi romance that looks like it was made with an algorithm. Take the two most beloved actors on the planet, put them in a shiny, futuristic sci-fi movie and smoosh their faces together while making kissy noises. Cha-ching.
That ol’ grain of salt goes without saying (seriously, we need a better phrase) for the latest report regarding the female-centric Ocean’s 11 sequel / reboot. Jennifer Lawrence may be reuniting with Hunger Games director Gary Ross for the upcoming project, which is being produced by original Ocean’s trilogy director Steven Soderbergh.
Sorry, Star-Lord. Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ was just passed by ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ as the highest grossing film of 2014. And, making that feat all the more impressive: ‘Mockingjay’ reached that mark in just 62 days, without the help of 3D or IMAX.
So, you think it's all fun and games being a movie star and filming the biggest movie of the year? Tell that to Jennifer Lawrence, the star of the 'Hunger Games' franchise who, while filming one of the 'Catching Fire' Cornucopia scenes, had a powerful water jet blast her right in the ear that left her partially deaf. All for your entertainment! That's just one of the little known bits of trivia packed into the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies, which focuses on the biggest film of 2013, 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire'.
At least one website is refusing to take down some of those nude, hacked photos of Jennifer Lawrence...because they claim she has no right to demand it. That's because some of those pictures aren't selfies.
