Texas Tech Basketball Joins Silent Solidarity March in Lubbock [Photos]
On Monday night in Lubbock, a "Silent Solidarity March" started at the Lubbock Police Department headquarters and ended at the new Citizen's Tower located on 14th Street. The peaceful protest included police officers and community members walking together after a message from the Chief of Police Floyd Mitchell and Mayor Dan Pope.
There were hundreds of community members in attendance, along with some familiar faces to Texas Tech athletics fans. Head Coach Chris Beard and members of his team who are in Lubbock were on hand to show support.
It's hard to say exactly who everyone is with the face masks on, but freshmen Nimari Burnett and Michah Peavy, Avery Benson, Kyler Edwards, Tyreek Smith, Clarence Nadolny, along with Chris Beard, Mark Adams and other members of the Texas Tech basketball coaching staff can be seen walking in solidarity.
Beard also appeared in a video with other Big 12 basketball coaches speaking out.
