Two people were arrested on Monday, May 18th, after leading Lubbock police on a short car chase.

According to a police report, an officer witnessed a vehicle run a red light at about 3:30 p.m. in East Lubbock.

The officer attempted to stop the vehicle after determining it had been reported stolen. The chase only lasted a few minutes according to the report, as one of the suspects jumped out of the vehicle near 39th Street and Avenue D.

The driver ditched the stolen vehicle in a nearby lot and tried to escape on foot.

Both suspects were apprehended by police and identified as 19-year-old Homero Carrillo and 33-year-old Arnando Guerra. They face charges of evading police, tampering with evidence, and drug possession.
