What House $500,000 Gets You: Lubbock vs. Miami
Everyone has been asked this exact question at some point in their life: “Would you rather live in a a big city or somewhere rural?”
When thinking of an answer, you may have a few different reasons that you might prefer one over the other. Either you like to go out a lot, thrive in a busy culture, and don’t mind the noise. Or you prefer a slower and quieter way of living, not minding the long drives to get from place to place.
Another major factor that needs to be considered is what kind of home you can get within your budget. If you decide to move to a hustling city like Miami, then you're going to find much smaller homes compared to those in Lubbock for the same price.
I decided to look deeper into it and found two homes that perfectly show the difference between a more rural area compared to a big city on Zillow.com. If you have a budget of $500,000 in Lubbock, you can get a big piece of property with a large house that's located just outside the city. When looking at your options in Miami, you can get a much smaller home, but it's located in the heart of the city. Both are great options, it just depends on what you are looking for.
