Would Lubbock Lego Builders Flip Their Bricks and Minifigs to Shop Here?
It's amazing to see how toys and games of our childhood get embraced by newer generations and turned into a viral phenomenon. In the past few years, once of the biggest toy success stories has to be the resurgence of Lego.
Between theme parks such as the many LegoLand locations, The Lego Movie and shows like Lego Masters, there's much to build upon (see what we did there?), even here in Lubbock. In that vein, this national franchise could be a huge success if they chose to open a Hub City location.
Bricks & Minifigs sells exactly what they promote: Lego sets, bulk pieces and even accessories for minifigs, which is short for mini figures. Last weekend, my family had the chance to check out the location in Grapevine, Texas and we could have spent all day there, along with the hundred bucks we also spent.
The store is wall-to-wall Lego, with bins to pick through if you're looking for the perfect piece to complete your project, along with rooms for Lego parties and sets that are simply incredible such as TIE fighters from Star Wars and even Batmobiles. It was impressive.
My wife even built minifigs of the two of us. I don't see the resemblance.
Yes, I'm carrying a cellphone because my bosses are incredibly needy.
This is the kind of activity and store that Lubbock needs. Something for families to enjoy together, as I saw just as many adults in the store as there were kids. If I had the money (I work for Townsquare, so I don't), I would absolutely invest in bringing a franchise here.
There are Texas locations in the Metroplex, San Antonio, Austin and the Houston area.
