Team Luke Hope for Minds announced this week that Texas Ranger Elvis Andrus will donate $100 dollars for every hit he collects in 2020. In an average season, taking into account the shortened season, Andrus' production will yield about $6,000.

Team Luke Hope for Minds is trying to raise $100,000 by August as part of their "Christmas in July" campaign. The current total is just over $75,000 dollars. The fundraising has been difficult in 2020 with most of it's scheduled fundraising events being canceled. The funds that Team Luke does raise supports families of those impacted by brain injuries.

Due to the pandemic, Team Luke had to cancel all but one of its scheduled fundraising events this year, leading to a loss of more than $300,000. All the funds support families of those impacted by a brain injury.

The Elvis Andrus donation brings even more meaning because before the accident Andrus was Luke Siegel's favorite player. Andrus has been involved with Team Luke since the beginning.
