It's been about a week and a half since I was engaged in a rather humorous and humbling social media exchange with Dutch Bros. Coffee after visiting their new location in Lubbock. If you need a fast and dirty recap, it's all right here for posterity, which opens me up once more for ridicule.

In a nutshell: after mentioning Dutch Bros. in a tweet, they inadvertently called me "Chad," which I'm told is now a colloquialism for a male "Karen." Dutch Bros. did apologize, and I considered it all to be water under the bridge amid some good clean social media fun.

Until yesterday.

I walked into our communal mailbox area at the radio station and saw this envelope in my name. I was confused and a bit alarmed, anxious as to what was in the envelope. I tore into the package, and was delighted to find a handwritten note from the company, as well as a small peace offering.

I was stunned. They had sent over a gift card as well to make up for this case of mistaken identity. Score one for the common man!

So, what do you think my very next move was? You guessed it, back to social media!

If anything, this shows that the smart companies do take notice of interactions on their social media channels and move quickly to make customers happy. Although I was never unhappy in this instance. I just thought it was funny that they called me "Chad."

Nevertheless, this was a very cool thing for Dutch Bros. to do, and yes, they kinda guaranteed my repeat business. But then, they had to have the last word.

Now, if I can just pull of the same scenario with, say....Porsche?
