Kansas City Lights Up Union Station for Patrick Mahomes’ Newborn Daughter
Kansas City's Union Station lights up for big sports events all the time. Above you can see a shot of the hub light up in red for the Kansas City Chiefs as they headed toward Super Bowl LV. The Chiefs held their celebratory parade there for Super Bowl LIV with the station decked out with banners and lights. When the Kansas City Royals win the building is blasted with blue, and they've held their own parades down there, too.
This weekend's light show isn't exactly on par with the show that Union Station puts on for the Super Bowl or World Series, but how many babies in Kansas City get an entire building lit up in celebration of your healthy arrival?
If you missed it, Patrick Mahomes and his fiancee Brittany Matthews welcomed a brand new little girl to the world named Sterling Skye Mahomes coming in at 6 lbs, 11 oz.
Mahomes and Matthews announced to the world that their daughter had arrived, sharing the first photo of Sterling Sunday afternoon. Following the announcement, Union Station was lit up with pink and white to welcome the newest resident of Kansas City.

And a ground-level view:
Mahomes thanked the city for their support and let them know his feelings in a simple tweet: "Love this city."
They love you too, Patrick. They love you, too.
Mahomes signed a 10-year extension this past offseason and spends most of his time in Kansas City. He has committed to not only win more Super Bowls for the city, but also raise his family there and contribute off the field via his foundation, 15 and the Mahomies.
