The mighty Metallica put on a concert for the ages in Lubbock Saturday night, and 94.5 FMX's photographer captured all the growls and guitar solos.

Taking the stage after a hilarious comedy routine by concert emcee Jim Breuer, Metallica burst into the title track from their latest album, Hardwired...to Self-Destruct, and didn't look back.

The band hasn't slowed down since their last Lubbock, Texas visit all the way back in 2004. James and the boys tore through classics like "Battery," "Master of Puppets," and "One," satisfying long-time fans. They even made history, playing "Here Comes Revenge" for the first time ever in concert. And we even saw a Texas Tech coach at the show.

It's been a long time since the United Supermarkets Arena was rocking like this. Hopefully, Lubbock won't have to wait another 15 years for the metal gods to descend again.
