There's just something about that spot on 19th Street where Reagor-Dykes was.

I guess that location was officially the Reagor-Dykes Auto Mall. It was grey and black and it just had a look like it was going to be vacant for a while. I expected that place to be a monument to better times on 19th Street, but it looks like a new tenant may perk the street up a bit.

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Though it looks like progress is being made on the site, it's still one of the areas that's going through heavy construction with TxDOT. It would be my guess that whatever plans are being made for that place, they are no doubt slowed somewhat while the streets are spiffed up.

The new tenant of that spot is called byrider. (Their choice to go all lower-case letters.)

Byrider is a franchised used car dealer that promises "better cars at a fair price." The company apparently has its own inspection and refurbishment processes. They also buy used cars.

Anyways, it's a nice, clean image and presentation that they're bringing to that old lot and they should be welcome in the Hub City.  That area of 19th Street has had some ups and downs and having another anchor-type tenant on that part of the street might encourage a little more business down there.

We have no details about their opening at this time, but we'll make sure to keep you looped in if we find out anything else.
