If you are like me and want a taste of Christmas joy within the burning summer, then you will be excited for an event coming to Lubbock’s YWCA.

A series of public events will bring together the community and experts to discuss.

Most homes are built with pools in Lubbock, so that is not a very common option, so you are left with hoping you know someone that has a pool, or simply going without. At least that was the case until the website Swimply.

This is an especially great thing to do for a date night with your partner, or as a night out with a group of friends.

The over $3.8 billion of donations include money given to Communities In Schools of the South Plains, and other Texas and New Mexico non-profits

On Tuesday, December 15th, Mackenzie Scott, formerly Mackenzie Bezos, announced a gift of $9 million to the YWCA of Lubbock.

City of Lubbock Code Enforcement Officers will be in the Bayless - Atkins neighborhood on Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. writing citations for violations.

The new YWCA location, when it's completed in 2020, will cost more than $10 million dollars to renovate, and that’s without plans for an indoor swimming pool.

The old Kmart building at 66th Street and University has been purchased by the YWCA.
