Where You Can and Can’t Open Carry, Concealed Carry in Lubbock

With the new legislation for concealed and open carry in Texas, you might be seeing these signs pop up around town. These signs can prohibit either open carry or concealed carry.

While a business must post the required 30.06 or 30.07 signs, remembering who allows what can get difficult.

Below is a list of businesses in Lubbock and whether they allow open carry, concealed carry, both or neither.

Businesses must put up a 30.06 sign to keep out concealed carry, and they must put up a 30.07 sign to opt out of open carry. If a business would like to prohibit both, they must post both signs.

Under the new law, concealed and open carry will remain prohibited in several places. These places include schools, buses and sporting events, polling places, courts, racetracks, airports and restaurants where 51 percent or more of the profit comes from alcohol.
