The "Thunder in the Canyon" drag boat races returned to Buffalo Springs Lake this weekend, and it featured for the the first time ever a Pro Mod Extreme Shoot Out with speeds up to 175 mph. Check out the photos here:
Buffalo Springs Lake will hold their Annual Fireworks Extravaganza. 98.1 KOOL FM will simulcast the music to the fireworks show. This year we dedicate our show to all of our service men and women and thank them for their service.
There are several species of animals roaming around Lubbock County. We come across many at the lake each week.
The "Common Grey Fox" has been spotted several times along the shore as well as along the canyon rims. We catch glimpses of both White Tail and Mule Deer at different spots around the lake...
I recently spotted a tuxedo-clad fisherman out at the lake. The off- white ruffles on his chest complemented the dark color of his sides and shoulders. His intensity as he fished was exceptional. The steely look in his eye proved he was a determined taskmaster as he surveyed the surface of the water.
