The Lubbock Police Department and the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office were called to multiple shootings and stabbings over the weekend in the Lubbock area.


A separate fight and shooting incident occurred on Saturday, October 9th at a Lubbock banquet hall, but authorities have not said if they’re both connected. Lubbock Police officers responded at 6:40 p.m. for reports of shots fired at the Koko Palace, near 50th Street and South Q Drive.

Officers also learned of a fight between two women also taking place at the banquet hall, which may be connected to the shooting. One person suffered a head injury, but no gunshot victims were found. As of this time, no arrests have been made.


A woman suffered serious injuries after a stabbing on Friday, October 8th at a Lubbock retail store. Lubbock police officers responded to the stabbing around 8 p.m. at a Family Dollar, located in the 300 block of 50th Street.

When officers arrived, they found a woman with a stab wound. She was taken by EMS to Covenant Medical Center with serious injuries. No arrests have been made and the identity of the injured woman has not been released.


A teenager is dead following a shooting on Saturday, October 9th in South Lubbock. Lubbock police officers responded to the shooting around 1:30 a.m. at the Echelon Apartments, located at 13407 Indiana Avenue.

Upon arrival, a 15-year-old male was pronounced dead. Initial reports say several individuals arrived at the apartment and an altercation occurred which led to the shooting.


An arrest has been made in connection to a shooting Saturday night just outside the Lubbock city limits. The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting around 10 p.m. in the 1300 block of 94th Street. One person was taken to University Medical Center with unknown injuries, and officers arrested a person of interest in connection to the shooting. The suspect's identity has not been released.
